Abstract: Tra le corsie di un ospedale in cui si intrecciano dolori, passioni e grandi emozioni, un appassionante affresco dei giorni più bui della Germania. Berlino, 1939. Con l'inizio della guerra le infermiere e i medici dell'ospedale Waldfriede devono far fronte comune: partecipare a frequenti esercitazioni antiaeree, allestire rifugi nei sotterranei e soprattutto rispettare le severe leggi del partito nazionalsocialista. Ma Helene, la nuova giovane dottoressa del reparto di chirurgia, ha difficoltà ad andare d'accordo con il primario Hintze, un uomo alquanto burbero segretamente soprannominato “Heil-Hitler-Hintze”. L'unica persona che sembra capirla è Timothy, il nuovo giardiniere del Waldfriede, un ragazzo di origini americane che sa sempre come tirarla su di morale. Mentre la clinica si prepara a un'ispezione che potrebbe portarla alla chiusura e Timo viene improvvisamente obbligato ad arruolarsi, Helene dovrà fare i conti non solo con il suo cuore, ma anche con le preoccupazioni di un imminente attacco, perché è solo questione di tempo prima che le bombe distruggano Berlino. Tra le corsie di un ospedale in cui si intrecciano dolori, passioni e grandi emozioni, un appassionante affresco dei giorni più bui della Germania.
